Chapter LeadershipChapter Chair Dr. Gomez is an associate professor of internal medicine and infectious diseases at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. His clinical interests include the management and prevention of infectious complications in immuno-compromised patients including patients with solid-organ transplants, hematological malignancy, and weakened immune systems due to biological therapy. Other areas of interest include clinical research on novel diagnostics and interventional clinical trials. Dr. Gomez received his M.D. degree from Universidad Nacional de Colombia. He then completed training in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and then pursued advanced fellowship training in Infectious Diseases (ID), Medical Microbiology, and Transplant and Immunocompromised Host ID at Stanford University.
