Luis Isea Mercado, MD, FACP

Dr. Isea Mercado, MD, FACP is an academic Internal Medicine Physician, currently serving as Assistant Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at AdventHealth Orlando. He completed medical school in Caracas, Venezuela, then immigrated to the US to pursue his IM residency training in AdventHealth Orlando. He is actively involved in advocacy and physician well-being, taking leadership roles in the ACP Florida Chapter, NHMA Florida Chapter, and alternate delegate of the IMG Section of the American Medical Association. He is passionate about increasing awareness of health inequities affecting underrepresented minorities and advocating to increase fair IMG representation and diversity in the physician workforce. He enjoys building Lego sets.

Chapter Mission

Our mission is to empower and elevate Hispanic physicians and other healthcare professionals in Florida by building a strong professional network, providing mentorship and guidance to Latino medical students, International medical graduates, Early career physicians, and Healthcare professionals. We are committed to improving the health of Hispanic and underserved populations by raising awareness of healthcare disparities and conditions that disproportionately affect our communities. Through education, advocacy, and social media outreach, we aim to support Hispanic healthcare professionals and patients, fostering a sense of belonging and helping our community thrive
