This is to request that you join the National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA) as a Basic or Premier member for January – December, 2008. Established in 1994 in Washington, DC, NHMA’s mission is to improve the health care for Hispanics and to advance leadership of Hispanic physicians.

NHMA dues are utilized to support the staff at the national office in Washington, DC who coordinate the NHMA Programs – the NHMA Leadership Fellowship, the Hispanic Graduate Medical Education Curriculum Project, the Congressional Hispanic Health Care Briefing Series, Obesity & Diabetes Education Campaign, the Hispanic Health Portal, NHMA Podcasting project and the Annual Conference.

NHMA serves as a key resource for policy makers in Congress and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. During 2007, NHMA provided input for the development of the Health Disparities bills, the Health Professions Appropriations, the Medicare Bill as well as nominated several physicians to key meetings and advisory committees. We hope you will join us in developing our organization.
